Kagame and Faye Meet in Paris to Discuss Intra-African Collaboration
President Paul Kagame met with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye of Senegal, in Paris, France, on Thursday, June 20, and had a cordial exchange following up on the former’s visit to Dakar last month.
In Dakar, the Heads of State held a tête-à-tête as well as a luncheon hosted by President Faye.
At the time, Kagame and Faye attended the Basketball Africa League (BAL) game between Senegal’s AS Douanes and Rwanda’s APR.
This was Kagame’s first visit to Senegal since Faye was elected as the country’s leader. Faye, 44, a senior official in the Pastef party, won the elections in March.
Kagame arrived in Paris on Thursday to attend the Global Forum for Vaccine Sovereignty and Innovation, co-hosted by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, in partnership with France and the African Union (AU).
